Evening in the Morning???

It is 11:30 am and it looks like it is 8 pm. What’s up with that? I took off work so that I could get some work done on Magicbus Annie for our roadtrip to the family reunion. She is sitting in the garage, but with all the stuff in there it is a little cramped. That and there’s lightening striking all around. Not to worry. Cat and I are sitting here in the dark playing scrabble on our iphones. I’m winning so far 264 to 186. BooYa!!! Can’t brag too much cause she has totally wooped me (a Texas term) in two previous games.

If and when this storm passes, the plan is to install seals on all the doors. I also have to put the wire back on the under the dash horn….I’ll explain later. Then I have to rotate the tires. All in good time.

In the mean time, I’ll enjoy the time with my lovely wife Cat, passing time playing Scrabble. By the way, this is the kitchen with only decorative lights and candles. Yep, it’s that dark.

Danny turns 49!!!

Yep, it’s true. I turned 49 today. Somehow aging has never bothered me. I feel like I am still young and carefree. It’s sort of a VW bus state of mind, no hurries or worries, slow and steady getting from point A to point B.  I recentlly read in a book something interesting, “Life is not about any particular achievement or experience. The most important task of your life is not what you do, but who you become.” I think this is true about all of us. I have done some noteworthy things in my life (and some not so noteworthy) but in the end, it all boils down to who I am and what I have become. I think I have become a joyful, happy person. In the end, I think that the sum total of my 49 years on this earth so far has been good. Sure there are hard times. I often tell myself that if life were perfect, life would be pretty darn boring. Priorities change, life happens, to quote Gunny Highway, “You have to adapt, improvise, and overcome.” The you that you become is never a finished product, but is a work in progress constantly changing, shifting, and moving.

On a lighter note.  I got to go have my favorite burger, The Hunger Buster, at DQ. Yeah!

Oh and of course Annie joined us for the celebration.

And most importantly, my lovely wife. (She’s such a trooper, even though she has the crud and feels very under the weather, she indulged my need for a DQ burger) Love ya baby.
